Terms of Service for Clues by Sam
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Clues by Sam (“the Game,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), operated by Ad Artis Oy, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, you must not use the Game.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum legal age in your jurisdiction) to use the Game. If you are under the age of majority, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.
3. User Accounts
To access certain features, including stats, purchases, and saved progress, you may be required to create an account.
You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information
- Maintain the security of your login credentials
- Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. Game Content and Access
Clues by Sam provides digital puzzles and related content. Access may include:
- Free puzzles
- One-time purchases of additional puzzles
- Subscription-based access to ongoing content
We reserve the right to modify, update, or discontinue content at any time without notice.
5. Purchases and Subscriptions
5.1 One-Time Purchases
- Purchases grant you a limited, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to access the purchased content.
- All purchases are final unless otherwise required by applicable law.
5.2 Subscriptions
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled before the renewal date.
- You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings.
- Access continues until the end of the current billing period after cancellation.
- No partial refunds will be provided unless required by law.
5.3 Pricing
We reserve the right to change pricing at any time. Changes will not affect the current billing cycle but may apply to future renewals.
6. Intellectual Property
All content in the Game, including puzzles, design, text, graphics, and code, is owned by Ad Artis Oy or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.
You may not:
- Copy, reproduce, distribute, or publicly display content
- Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code
- Use content for commercial purposes without prior written consent
7. User-Generated Content
The Game may allow users to create, submit, upload, or store their own puzzle content, including puzzle designs, text, clues, solutions, and related materials (“User Content”).
You retain ownership of any original rights you may have in the User Content you create, but by submitting or creating User Content in the Game, you grant Ad Artis Oy a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, transferable, and sublicensable license to use, host, store, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, distribute, publicly display, publicly perform, and otherwise exploit that User Content in connection with the Game and our business, including for promotion, improvement, and distribution of the Game.
This means, among other things, that we may preserve, review, modify, adapt, reformat, combine, distribute, feature, or remove User Content at our discretion.
We reserve the right, at any time and without notice, to delete, refuse to publish, restrict access to, edit, or modify any User Content for any reason, including for legal, operational, content moderation, quality, or security reasons.
You represent and warrant that:
- You own or have the necessary rights to submit the User Content
- Your User Content does not violate any law or infringe any third-party rights
- Your User Content is not defamatory, unlawful, abusive, or otherwise objectionable
We are not obligated to store, maintain, or provide copies of User Content, and we are not responsible for any loss of User Content.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Game for unlawful purposes
- Attempt unauthorized access to systems or accounts
- Interfere with the Game’s operation, servers, or networks
- Exploit bugs, cheats, or unintended mechanics
9. Data and Privacy
We may collect and process personal data necessary to operate the Game, including account information and gameplay statistics.
You acknowledge that:
- Data transmission over the internet is not completely secure
- We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data

10. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Game is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to:

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ad Artis Oy shall not be liable for:
- Loss of data, user progress, or account access
- Service interruptions or outages
- Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Loss of profits, revenue, or business opportunities
Your use of the Game is at your own risk.
12. International Use
The Game is operated from Finland but may be accessed worldwide. You are responsible for complying with local laws applicable to your use of the Game.
13. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account or access at any time, without prior notice, if you violate these Terms or for operational, legal, or security reasons.
14. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Game after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
15. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Finland, without regard to conflict of law principles.
